U-10 Liberties are CMU Soccerfest Champions!!!

The u10 Liberties played their heart’s out Feb. 18th, 2012. They played four games in less than six hours on their way to becoming tournament champions. They won their first game 6-1 and lost the second one 3-2. They rebounded from defeat and destroyed their next opponent 12-0. The championship was a nail biter and was nil to nil with 3 minutes left when the Liberty girls finally scored. That proved to be the game winner as they were crowned champions with a 1-0 victory.

U-13 Stars are CMU Soccerfest Champions!!!

The u13 Michigan Revolution Stars girls went undefeated to win the championship at the CMU Soccerfest this past month. The first three games they were in total control from start to finish winning 5-2, 7-3 and 10-2. The three consecutive wins set up the championship game against another undefeated and dominating club. The stars found themselves in an unfamiliar position within the first 6 minutes of the game. They were down 3-0 and it appeared they may get routed. They regrouped and by halftime the score was 3-2. In the second half they continued their strong play and took a 4-3 lead. A misdirected ball by the Stars into their own net with minutes to go left them tied at 4-4. The final whistle blew and that set up a five minute sudden death. It was anyone’s game as both teams had their chance at putting it away. It appeared over when their opponent scored on a direct kick and started to celebrate. However, the goal was disallowed as the referee had signaled an indirect kick. With 30 seconds left in the shortened period our girls finally put it in for the win and the championship. It was a nerve racking game for the coaches and parents and fans.

Six teams make it to Finals at the Powerade Invitational!

Congratulations to all of the Michigan Revolution teams for their hard work at the Powerade Invitational Tournament! We are very proud of all of our teams no matter where they finished. Our club had a really good showing, as six teams made it to the Finals in their divisions. What a great way to start the 2011 fall season!

The Warriors coached by Coach Gonzalo brought home the Championship trophy! These boys played well together and dominated their division. We are proud to call them CHAMPS! CONGRATULATIONS WARRIORS!!!!!!

The u10 Raiders played up a division in the u11 bracket and made it all the way to the Finals! They outplayed their older, taller opponents with quickness and finesse. A second place finish is a wonderful accomplishment for this team! They will be playing 8v8 in the fall season as well.

The u11 Aftershock also made it to the finals in the highest division played. They came in as underdogs and stayed focused until the end! They are off to Traverse City in a few weeks. Good luck Aftershock!

The u11 Freedom team went to the finals. They played their hearts out and beat some tough opponents to earn their spot in the finals. This team always finds a way to make their presence known at tournaments. What a fun team to watch!

The Mi Rev ’00 went to the finals as a new team! They have only been playing together for a few weeks and with much preparation, had a great showing at the tournament. Congrats to them!

The u14 Revolution ’98′s lost in overtime in a fantastic game! Hold your heads up high boys! You represented us well and we are proud of your continued success! Good luck in the upcoming season.

As mentioned above, we are proud of ALL Michigan Revolution teams, coaches, and parents. Good luck in your upcoming season

Over the last two weekends many players have been attending ODP tryouts. These tryouts are for the Olympic Developmental Program. We are honored to have Michigan Revolution players involved in the program and representing our club!

Victoria Matovski is participating in the program for the 2nd year in a row. Last year she was in the 1999 pool of players and this year returned to make the 1999 Olympic Developmental Team! She is among the top 50 players in the state in her age group that will be representing the State of Michigan in regional and national competitions.

Dylon Baumann and Gonzalo Constenada have been named to the 2000 Olympic Developmental Player Pool. They will be attending training sessions around the state to get ready for the team next year! Both of these players are highly skilled and very competitive in the sport.

Josh Barton and Josh Chunn are involved with the 2001 ODP 101. They made the cut to attend practices and trainings to get ready to compete for a spot in next years player pool. These players are getting ready at a young age!

We are proud of ALL of the players that attended the ODP tryouts and hope many more of our players attend next summer.

We are very proud of all of the Michigan Revolution teams, as everyone had a fantastic season! Many teams played premier level soccer and many others played up an age level or two. Hard work and commitment really paid off as many of our teams finished in at the top of their divisions!

U9 Strike Force with Coach John went undefeated with a record of 8-0-2 to be named CHAMPIONS of their division. This team has not lost a MYSL league game in 3 seasons! Congratulations boys… you had a wonderful season.

U10 Aftershock with Coach Dan also had an undefeated season with a record of 12-0! Great effort and dedication boys! This new group of players has formed into quite the team! We are so proud of how well they play together and have grown as a team! Great job CHAMPIONS!

U11 Capitols with Coach John and Coach Len finished the season at the top of the U12 White division! Some of these girls are of the U10 age group and played tough against others twice their size! The season came down to the last game…. winner takes all! They beat BUFC 4-2 to claim the championship trophy! Way to go Capitols!

Congrats to the U11 Patriots, coached by Keith Kauzlarich, for the improvement they made this year. For being a new team this year the boys finished off strong. Their perseverance and improvement with foot skills and teamwork showed at Canton Cup tournament. They were tied for first in their division and missed getting into the finals by a couple of goals.

Our U14 Boys, coached by Coach Gonzalo, finished in 2nd place in the MYSL Premier division for the spring season. They scored 36 goals! They capped off a great season by being Canton Cup CHAMPIONS!

Congratulations to all of our teams… U10 Gladiators, playing U11, finished in 2nd place and the U12 Warriors also finished in 2nd place by only a game! We hope everyone enjoys their summer and we’ll see everyone at summer camp!
